Mr Severino Barzan the proprietor is considered one of the most illustrious personalities in the world of wine. The "Revue du Vin de France" named him "Man of the Year" in 1998. He was honored by the "Society of Bacchus", and is the of the "2004 Award of Excellence" by Wine Spectator" of which only five restaurants in Italy have achieved this honor.

Their wine cellar boasts over 120,000 bottles of wine poured into hand blown, lead free stemware. This beautiful collection improves and preserves the integrity of the wine which it was designed to hold. Each piece requires five men working by hand to create a light and perfectly shaped glass.
On the dining room wall at Bottega del Vino is inscribed: "Dio mi guardi da chi non beve vino" (May God protect me from those who do not drink wine."
